BESTSELLER's ONLY Embraces T2T Recycling with RE&UP's Recycled Polyester

2025-09-15

In a significant step toward circular fashion, BESTSELLER's womenswear brand ONLY has upgraded its basic knitwear line by introducing recycled polyester made from textile waste. This initiative is part of BESTSELLER's broader strategy to increase the use of T2T recycled materials across its supply chain. The first garments using this sustainable material are already available in stores.

ONLY's move highlights BESTSELLER's strategic focus on reducing the use of virgin materials, including polyester. This project is the result of a three-way collaboration between ONLY, textile-to-textile recycling company RE&UP, and Turkish apparel supplier Deniz. Several major brands under BESTSELLER are actively incorporating recycled materials into their core collections, including the popular "Never Out Of Stock" (NOOS) line.

"This allows us to create garments from both post-consumer clothing and factory textile waste while delivering the same performance and durability as virgin polyester," said Pernille Tøttrup, ONLY's Sourcing Manager. Ideally, recycled polyester should originate from a textile-to-textile recycling process. To that end, BESTSELLER is investing in and partnering with multiple innovative companies in this field to ensure technological advancement and scalability. RE&UP specializes in next-generation T2T recycling, using a combination of mechanical and thermochemical processes to recover textile waste.

"This collaboration proves that T2T recycling is no longer a distant ambition—it can already deliver industry-ready, cost-competitive fibers," said Ozgur Atsan, Chief Commercial Officer at RE&UP.

Earlier this year, BESTSELLER's menswear brand JACK&JONES also successfully transitioned its NOOS line of popular jackets to recycled polyester, including the best-selling "Rush "series, totaling 150,000 jackets.

BESTSELLER's ongoing efforts reflect a growing industry commitment to reduce dependence on virgin resources and advance sustainability. Companies like Yooretex, which specializes in T2T recycling and transforming textile waste into new high-value materials, play a crucial role in this ecosystem. By supporting innovation and circular material flows, Yooretex contributes to a future where waste is systematically designed out of fashion production.Although transforming the industry is a long and complex journey, we are taking concrete steps by exploring and investing in T2T solutions while scaling the use of recycled materials from various waste sources.
